Do you really need to bring the car to enjoy a holiday in South East Cornwall? With great rail links, National Express and local bus services we think not.....
Trains from Looe
As the great little video above shows, the branch line from Liskeard to Looe is, apart from a useful link to the mainline, a great trip out. You can either just go there and back or you can get off at one of the little 'stations' along the way and go for a walk.
Linking it with the mainline means you can have a day out, car free, all over Cornwall. You can go all the way to St Ives for the day! Or how about nipping into Plymouth for some shopping and culture, walking in the footsteps of Sir Francis Drake?
On the buses
National Express coaches pass through Plymouth and Liskeard, allowing you to connect with buses to towns and villages in South East Cornwall. These local buses are a great way of seeing the countryside (you can see over the hedges for one thing!) and possibly introduce you to places you might not have thought of going to if you were driving, or you weren't too keen on some of our narrow roads!
